Choose a small folder structure
Use an inbox for new clippings, a few topic folders for material you have read and an index note for each active project. Start small; a complex hierarchy can cost more effort than it saves.
Tabvenir writes Markdown and downloaded image assets to a selected folder or a ZIP. Keep the files together and open them in an editor you already use. An Obsidian vault can be that folder, but it is not required.
Preserve why and where you saved a page
Keep the source URL and add your own reason for collecting the article. Distinguish source content from your comments so an exported paragraph is not later mistaken for your own writing.
Some articles change over time. Your saved note reflects the content extracted during that save and may omit dynamic components. Check a source again before relying on an important fact.
Local saving still has network boundaries
The extension does not upload local exports to a Tabvenir server. Image downloads still contact the original image hosts. If you put the folder in a third-party sync service, that service may upload it according to its settings.
Manual Notion import places selected files in Notion. The 0.0.2 update awaiting review adds optional direct Notion saving, which sends content to its API only when you choose that action. A local export and a cloud workspace are different storage decisions.
A durable library needs a restore plan
Keep a second copy of important notes and periodically open a restored sample, including its images. A synced deletion can remove both copies if sync is your only protection.
Exported files remain after uninstalling Tabvenir. They do not remain after every possible drive failure, accidental deletion or broken asset move. Choose backups according to the value of your collection rather than treating file ownership as a guarantee against loss.
