Updated:
Start with local Markdown
The published version saves selected tabs to Markdown files or a ZIP. Obsidian uses these local files; Notion imports them manually. Direct Notion saving and automatic Obsidian opening are not available in this release.
Save Markdown into an Obsidian vault
Open or create a vault in Obsidian. In Tabvenir, choose a dedicated folder inside that vault as the save directory, then select your tabs and save.
Open the saved notes from the vault file list. For ZIP output, extract the Markdown files and assets folder into the vault, keeping their relative paths together.
Version 0.0.2: optional Obsidian and Notion connections
Saved notes include a clickable source webpage link. Configure an Obsidian vault to open saved notes, with optional automatic opening after a completed batch. Optional Notion export requires your Notion account, a personal connection token and a shared target page. Only when you click Save to Notion are selected saved text, titles, source URLs and images sent directly to Notion. The token stays in extension session storage and is cleared on browser restart or disconnect. Tabvenir receives neither the token nor your notes. Local saving needs no account; there is no developer telemetry or automatic cloud sync.
Connecting sends your token to api.notion.com to check the target page. Obsidian receives the vault name and relative filename. Target metadata and export progress stay local; ZIP export copies can remain seven days. Disconnecting does not delete Notion pages or revoke the Notion token.
Import Markdown into Notion
Save the pages with Tabvenir first. In Notion on desktop or web, open Settings → Import → Text & Markdown and choose the exported .md files. Extract a ZIP first if needed.
Check the imported pages, then move them to your chosen Notion page or workspace. This manual workflow needs a Notion account; it does not need a connection token in Tabvenir.
Check images and formatting
Local images must keep the paths used by the notes. Notion may require image uploads after import. Check images, tables and links against the original page; complex layouts may need edits.
Privacy and source rights
Markdown conversion runs on your device. Importing files into Notion uploads the selected content to Notion under its own terms and privacy policy. Only save and share content you are allowed to use.
Independent compatibility
Tabvenir is an independent extension, not affiliated with or endorsed by Obsidian or Notion. Product names are used only to describe compatibility and belong to their respective owners.
