Privacy Policy

This policy covers the current extension and tabvenir.com. Reading data is processed on your device; visiting a website or sending an email creates a separate interaction.

Updated:

Responsibility and contact

The contact for this project and privacy requests is service@tabvenir.com. Verified publisher details are listed in Legal Information. The current version does not offer a hosted account or a personal reading-data service.

What the extension processes

Tabvenir uses tab titles and URLs to display your reading list, and reads selected page content when you start a save. It handles article text, image addresses, extraction warnings and batch records on your device.

The developer does not receive your tab list, saved notes or article contents through an automatic upload. The current extension has no developer analytics, advertising, cloud sync or remote article-parsing service.

Version 0.0.2: optional Obsidian and Notion connections

Saved notes include a clickable source webpage link. Configure an Obsidian vault to open saved notes, with optional automatic opening after a completed batch. Optional Notion export requires your Notion account, a personal connection token and a shared target page. Only when you click Save to Notion are selected saved text, titles, source URLs and images sent directly to Notion. The token stays in extension session storage and is cleared on browser restart or disconnect. Tabvenir receives neither the token nor your notes. Local saving needs no account; there is no developer telemetry or automatic cloud sync.

Connecting sends your token to api.notion.com to check the target page. Obsidian receives the vault name and relative filename. Target metadata and export progress stay local; ZIP export copies can remain seven days. Disconnecting does not delete Notion pages or revoke the Notion token.

Local storage and retention

Settings use local extension storage without browser sync. Batch records, recovery content, directory handles and the archive index are stored in local IndexedDB. ZIP packaging also uses a browser-private temporary file.

Paused and unconfirmed ZIP payloads are cleaned after seven days of inactivity when cleanup runs. Manually confirmed ZIP payloads are retained for seven days after completion; automatically completed download output is removed. Reports, settings and archive records can remain until you clear them, retention cleanup applies, or you uninstall.

Uninstalling normally removes browser-managed extension data. Exported Markdown, images and ZIP files remain in the location you chose; delete them there if you no longer need them.

Image hosts and website requests

Saving retrieves images from the original website or image host. Those servers receive normal request information such as your IP address and the image URL. Cookies are omitted for cross-site image requests; existing same-site cookies may be used when enabled in extension settings.

Cookie-bearing image requests stop before redirects and can retry without cookies. Failed images may remain as remote links in exported notes; viewing them in another app can contact the original host. HTTP image requests are upgraded to HTTPS without an HTTP fallback. Hosts without HTTPS may fail.

Referer information may be added when needed to retrieve an image. Reloading a sleeping tab, when you choose that option, uses the browser’s normal page request and login state. These requests are for the content you selected, not an upload of your notes to the developer.

This website

The site has no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, fingerprinting, third-party embeds, cookie-based identifiers, or local-storage preferences. Language choices are represented by page URLs.

Delivering a website exposes request information, such as an IP address, requested URL, time and browser headers, to its hosting service. The hosting provider and its access-log retention are described below.

Support and uninstall feedback

Feedback is voluntary. The website can copy your selected reasons and message or open a draft in your email application. It does not submit a survey in the background. Feedback text stays in the page until you choose to copy or send it; the site does not store it in a database.

If you send an email, the recipient receives your address, message and anything you attach. Correspondence is used to answer the request, investigate the issue and maintain necessary support records, not to add you to a marketing list. It is retained only as needed for the request, related follow-up or legal obligations, then deleted when no longer needed. Email delivery also follows your email provider’s practices.

Optional diagnostics

The extension can generate a diagnostic report locally, which you can preview and download. It contains aggregate states and error codes rather than page titles, URLs, paths, article HTML, cookies or tokens. It is not automatically uploaded. You decide whether to share it.

A separate file-verification export includes relative filenames and hashes. Inspect it before sharing it. This export is different from the diagnostic report.

Purposes and your choices

Local reading data is used to provide the saving function you request. Website request processing serves delivery and security; voluntary correspondence serves support. Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, necessary service delivery and legitimate interests in security and requested support are the relevant purposes, subject to that law.

You can revoke browser permissions, change same-site image settings, disable automatic closing, clear local extension records and delete exported files. There is no account-based profile to delete on our servers.

Rights concerning information you send

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing of correspondence you have sent. You may complain to the relevant data-protection authority. Email the project contact and identify the request; do not send unrelated sensitive material.

We do not have access to reading data that exists only on your device. Requests about that data can be carried out through your browser and saved files. Any specific legal response deadline follows the law that applies.

Changes and Limited Use

New hosted features, tracking or material processing changes will be disclosed before those features are used. The policy date will be updated when the text changes.

Tabvenir follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, for information received through Google APIs. Such data is used for the disclosed saving purpose and is not sold or used for personalized advertising.
