Load the article you intend to keep
Scroll through the relevant part of the original article before saving. Some sites load images only as they enter view. Expand sections you need and check whether a chart is a real image, an embedded frame or a dynamic widget.
Tabvenir extracts the page content available to it; it does not bypass access controls. If the visible article is incomplete, do not assume a Markdown export can recover the missing section.
Understand the asset folder
A successful local-image export stores downloaded images alongside the notes and references them with relative paths. Your exported folder should contain both the .md files and their assets. A Markdown editor follows those paths to display the images.
Open one note while offline to check whether the images you need are actually local. A remote image link may work online and then fail offline. Keep the original batch while you investigate missing assets.
Move notes without breaking their references
Move the whole exported folder or preserve the relationship between each note and its assets directory. Renaming an asset directory without updating the note’s paths can produce empty image placeholders.
For an Obsidian vault, open the notes where you saved them and check the image display before rearranging folders. For Notion import, verify the imported page separately: another application may handle relative paths differently.
Diagnose a missing image
Compare the exported note with the live source and the save result. Common causes include an expired URL, a host requiring authentication, a blocked download, lazy loading or an image displayed inside an embedded component.
Image downloads contact the source image hosts. Those hosts receive normal request information. Saving locally avoids a Tabvenir cloud library, but it does not eliminate those network requests. Consult the network disclosure before saving sensitive material.
Keep the source, and check important details
Record the source URL and inspect diagrams, captions, tables and code that your work depends on. Markdown preserves a readable structure, not an exact visual copy of the original page.
If you need the exact page appearance, keep an appropriate additional record such as a permitted PDF alongside your reading note. Treat the Markdown as a convenient working copy and respect the source’s licence and access conditions.
